Cartier Telegram

This golden Western Union telegram plate, made by Cartier, was delivered to Elizabeth Taylor on the occasion of her Broadway debut in Lillian Hellman’s "The Little Foxes", dated May 7, 1981. The piece features an etched message from Ralph Destino, the President of Cartier, and a small diamond atop the 'i' in 'Elizabeth'. A second piece was delivered to Elizabeth on the occasion of the opening night of her play "Private Lives" in 1983. Elizabeth and Cartier had a long-standing relationship, and these items extended that connection.
